"Even with a Luxury Car Tax exemption BMW sedans would cost more than twice the price of Commodores and Falcons."

yeah, a consumer BMW.. but a police spec BMW can be bought pre-assembled and ready to go with warranty. That's one of the reasons why the AFP went with X5's over locally developed vehicles.

I'm keen to know what the cops will be getting, they might even go with something Japanese if the free trade agreement brings the price down. NSW and VIC HWP have toyed with WRX's and Evo's before.

The WRXs worked fine in HWP situations , however due to some inaccuracies with the speedometers they had to be pulled from service. They had to refund 530 speeding infringements, so the project was scrapped.

Ford need to spec up a lowered V8 Territory - would be awesome.

Yeah I heard that, officers also complained the WRX seats were too narrow for the gunbelts.

Which, extends to the Focus ST: a mate of mine picked a brand new one up for a steal after a Sergeant bought it and couldn't drive it to work with his gun belt on.

He got it for $31k with less than 1000km's on it. Ford were going to give the Sarge $29k back for it.

No Territories because they're going the way of the Falcon :(

Good point - forgot about that.

Ford should make it anyway.
